Three of the six submarines from
Russian order by Vietnam will arrive next month, this was told by the Russian officials
in an Interfax.
The Russian Hai Phong HQ-184
recently completed its testing at sea in the Kaliningrad and returned to St.
Petersburg—based Shipyards on March 2. Interfax manufacturer quoted that Alexander
Buzakov, Shipyards’ general director, saying that submarine will soon arrive in
Vietnam next month without any further details how. He also added that HQ—186
Da Nang, fifth submarine in contract, will be launched at shipyard by end of this
year.
March of this year, HQ—183 Ho Chi
second submarine, was delivered to Vietnam’s by Dutch—registered cargo ship
Rolldock Star. The stated Dutch delivered HQ 182 Hanoi, first of six subs, to the
Cam Ranh Bay last December 31 of 2013. Six diesel—electric submarines, are
considered improvements over older Kilo—class, bought through USD2—billion deal
signed during of the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan to Russia in late 2009. The said
contract requires Russia to deliver everything before 2017.
