Fourteen days more to go before the ultimate bout of the century happens between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio as they will fight in Las Vegas. But the anticipated ticket for the fight is not yet available on the market for public sale.
Mayweather, Pacquiao’s camp and together with MGM were locked in a standoff over the allotments as when they finally put the tickets on sale, few will be listed at a price.
This issue left boxing fans both camp in the dark and ticket agents were confused. In comparison to the previous release, the public sales of tickets were normally available in the market for sale ten weeks before the event. But for this mega fight, no one has been holding printed ticket right now.
Leonard Ellerbe a Mayweather camp’s promoter said but not confirmed that tickets will be on sale this week, but officials of MGM remained tight-lipped about the tickets availability. According to sources there will be limited number of tickets available on sale and promoters were not working to finalize the release date.
The fight of the century witness will have to spend with its announced price of “$1,500 - $7,500” for the 16,500 Grand Arena Garden seats. But in reality the prices of those tickets already tripled just as the tickets were available.
Michail Koncz Pacquiao’s manager blamed Floyd’s camp for holding the ticket sales, saying that they refused to sign term sheet that was negotiated months that will specify the allotments.
"It's a real mess right now," Koncz said.
