“The Philippine Navy changes its
tactical operations as they are now focus in line with the sea row.”
Vessels from the Philippine Navy
will be repositioned in the strategic base in Palawan. The repositioning of the
Vessels will enable PN troops to secure country’s sovereignty towards the
tension on WPS West Philippine Sea.
Oyster Bay headquarters of the
Naval Force was the spotlight during the recent visit of Philippine President
Aquino in Palawan for the celebration of Navy’s anniversary.
Marine Colonel Edgard Arevalo the
head of Military Operations said “In Oyster Bay, piers are being developed on
that area. When piers are complete, this will accommodate medium and even large
ships that will respond during emergency call.”
The development of those
headquarters of Philippine Naval Force will shorten travel time and lessen
logistical expenditures. Oyster Bay as the new modern base of the Navy if
completed, this can accommodate cruise ships and even destroyers. A repair
construction yard will also be built on that naval base.
“We can save 20,000 liters diesel
and shorten travel time by 32 hours for the deployment of our ships on West
Philippine Sea.”Col. Arevalo said. With the enhanced EDCA the US troops
will be given access to our Oyster Bay.
