Thanks to DAP it helps PAGASA Forecast Accurately

PAGASA – the Philippines leading weather forecasting agency become accurate and more efficient in preparing the country to brace coming tropical storms. The allocation of “DAP” by the government have financed DOST, enabling the agency to upgrade its system capabilities in weather forecasting.

Representative of Iloilo Jerry Treñas said that the allocation of DAP funded some DOST’s components Nationwide known as “Project NOAH” and “NMCC” National Meteorological Climate Center and the “PAGASA” astronomical service administration.

The “hit or miss” predictions by PAGASA weather forecast lost its credibility until the Project NOAH was launch Aquino Administration funded by DAP.

Php275 million was allocated at MMCC in which it equipped PAGASA state of the art research laboratories and IT facilities in modeling predictions and various climate hazard trainings. With DAP the government allocated another Php150 million on PAGASA’s enhancement with the “Doppler Radar Network for accurate warning and early flood warning system.
