Despite from her illness, Senator
Santiago still on her usual character and spewed venom at her opponent, Sen.
Ponce Enrile who has been detained charged with plunder in connection to pork
barrel scam.
The Senator is against the “special
privileges” allowing him to be under hospital arrest.
Santiago said “the
Senator is such a ‘Drama king’ saying so many reasons, his eyes, nose and ears
leading him to be placed in hospital arrest.”
Santiago call upon equal
fortification, saying that senior prisoners should be in accorded in the same
benefit that Senator Enrile enjoys.
"Sabi niya, 'Matanda na ako. Huwag
mo na ako i-detain, ilagay mo na lang ako sa ospital. Aba e di lahat ngayon ng
matanda na--let's say as defined by law as a senior citizen, 60 years old and
above--lahat sila who are detention prisoners should now be placed under
hospital arrest para pareho pareho sila. E he's asking for special treatment e.
Masyado namang garapal yan."
The senator believes that the senator’s
conditions do not demand for a hospital arrest. “I am against “VIP treatment”
to those high profile Philippine prisoners.” Senator Defensor Santiago said
