“Mumbai and India has been
dislodged by Manila as the 2nd best outsourcing target in the world.”
Aside from Manila, there were
cities in Philippines that were outside Manila that improved their ranking in
the top 100 Outsourcing destinations. Bacolod, Davao, Laguna and Santa Rosa went
up onto their rank on the overall ranking of the top outsourcing destinations
worldwide.
Baguio and Cebu stayed on their rank
places and Iloilo which was ravaged by the super typhoon Yolanda last 2013 have
slide down. But in overall seven cities in the Philippines made it on the top
100 ranking, India remains the most dominant country with 6 cities in the top
10.
Louis Casambre the undersecretary
for Information and Communication Technology office of the DOST (Department of
Science and Technology) said that its goal in the next 2016 ranking is to add 3
more cities in the Philippines in the top 100 ranking.
“The goal of DOST-ICTO and Business
Process Association of the Philippines and Information Technology is to develop
globally preferred outsourcing destination outside in the Metro Manila”
Undersecretary Casambre said.
The overall revenue on the
outsourcing of business process last year has increased by fifteen percent
(15%) equivalent to USD13.34 billion.
