A party-list representative call
government to toughen AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) modernization
program as China continued to build infrastructures on South China Sea or West
Philippine Sea in despite of territorial disputes.
In a privilege speech, Acedillo asked for additional
funds to give power to Air Force and Navy, Acedillo presented developments that
China made in disputed territories despite on a call for moratorium on
construction in the area.
He said that Mischief Reef has solar
panels installed; weather radars, machine guns, machine guns, and an
infrastructure that will make it looked like military garrison.
Acedillo said that China also
constructing infrastructure in Cuarteron Reef,Gaven Reef, Johnson Reef and
Gaven Reef.
If we will not support the
modernization program of our defense, Philippines will have a harder time
protecting its interest in disputed territories.
