Ph Patrol Aircraft bidding worth P5.98 billion fails

The bidding of two long range patrol aircraft by the DND with P5.98 billion worth has failed due to the lack of requirements by the bidders set by Philippine Defense Department Bidding committee.

SBAC-1 (Special Bids and Awards Committee) declared failed bidding after inspecting bid documents for 12 hours in Camp Aguinaldo.

A total of 7 companies have submitted offers on the project, which seek to augment Philippine maritime awareness.

Out of the seven company bidders, Elbit Systems Ltd. And Elta Systems Ltd. have met the requirements, others have failed due to deficiencies in its eligibility documents, this includes the presentation of completed contracts similar to long range patrol projects from other countries.

Elbit and Elta failed to hurdle the next stage of the bidding procedure, this involves technical aspects of the offered aircrafts.

“Both bidders did not include in their scheme on fast-moving items and consumables in its list of deliverables,” Undersecretary Manalo the SBAC-1 chairman told reporters.

Disqualified firms have 3 days to ask SBAC-1 to reassess its decision stating them ineligible to bid o the project.
