Albay Governor to Binay “impeachment as the best move”

Albay Governor Salceda broached the proposal that some may have think “Impeach VP Jejomar Binay” over the alleged overpricing of the Makati building.

The indictments that were piling up in the Senate inquiry that has been diverted to a public attention from urgent concerns, Governor Salceda said that the wise thing to perform was to file impeachment complaint against the Vice President.

The prosecution process would put an end to the issue and then refocus the attention to urgent issues, such as country’s growth and traffics, Governor Salceda told press in a forum at Diamond Hotel Manila.

The overpriced Makati Building Senate hearing was expected to lead to the complainants on filing impeachment procedures, outspoken governor said.

Based from the Senate hearing testimonies, the building experts who have appraised the Makati Building has the actual cost of Php. 700 million using the cost of Grade A structures.

Bishop Broderick Pabillo recently said to the Binay’s that they must answer and face all the allegations of corruption, saying it that is not enough for Binay’s to claim that they are victims of politicking.

“Binay and his family should answer the accusations hurled against them. They should not brush off corruption claims. It’s not enough to blame politicking,” Bishop Pabillo said.

President Aquino steered to clear all the allegations that VP Binay pocketed enormous sums in the construction of the building.

 “At the end of the day, the truth will set us all free,” Aquino said.
