The Ex- vice Mayor of Makati City
Ernesto Mercado and the other two complainants with the plunder blow with
Vice—President Binay and the current Makati Mayor Binay his son, went to DOJ (Department
of Justice) to process their application for the WPP (Witness Protection
Program) coverage.
Nicolas Enciso VI, Atty. Renato Bondal
and Mercado, submitted the required documents to WPP, and were interviewed as
part of inspection process.
DOJ Secretary De Lima bared that Senate
requested that Enciso, Bondal and Mercado be placed under WPP in light of the critical
information that they possess on the alleged overpriced Makati City Hall
Building Two.
The controversial Makati 11-storey
building structure cost Php2.3 billion for it to complete.
"Inievaluate na yan ng WPP, yung
request covering [former] Vice-Mayor Mercado and two others," De
Lima said.
Binay's debunked all the allegations
of over—pricing, and insist that the construction of the divisive building was
above the board; and they claimed that politics is behind all the move to
discredit their name regarding this issue.
