Two United States Navy Jet Crashed

Two US Navy Jet fighters embarked with San Diego—based Carl Vinson aircraft carrier crashed in western Pacific, Navy officials announced.

Initial reports says that the two jet fighters according to the grapevine collided, said by Lt. Lauren Cole, spokeswoman of Navy’s 7th Fleet. One pilot rapidly retrieved after the said collision, which occurred while the carrier was in approximately 250 nautical miles of Wake Island. The pilot was now in fair condition receiving medical attention. A search helicopters and ships were deployed for the second pilot.


It was about 5 p.m. when two F/A-18C Hornets from the Carrier Air Wing 17 went down. They were deployed from units based at the Naval Air Station Lemoore in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The Strike Fighter Squadron 113 ad Strike Fighter Squadron 94 Neither of the fighter jets has been recovered. The cause of the incident was under investigation.

"Our primary concern right now is the search for the missing pilot,” Cole said.
