The construction of Makati
building contractors keep silent about the issue on the alleged overpricing,
HCC (Hilmarc’s Construction Corporation) said that they cannot say that the 11
storey building that they have constructed was world—class.
"We cannot just make claim that the
Makati building it one of the world-class," attorney Rogelio Peig the
assistant VP legal affairs of HCC during the hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon
Committee.
"We are not also saying it is not
world-class," he added.
It was first said by Makati Mayor
Binay that the total cost of the building construction amounted to Php2 billion
due to the world—class design with the application of “green building.”
But Peig cleared that Makat Building
were not certified as “Green Building”.
The building experts who have
checked the building are not convinced of being termed as “world—class”
"Ito po ay isang magandang
building, pero hindi ko po siguro masasabi na ito ay isang world-class
building," said by Dr. Sigwa, the head of the UP Institute of
Civil Engineering.
