President Obama thanked the Arab
leaders for joining the United States coalition aimed to defeat Islamic
extremists and with the winning pledges from allies that were in fight for the
long haul.
hours after air strikes launched against
Islamic State group in Syria, President Obama said ”represents partners and friends
with which we have worked for many, many years to make sure that security and
prosperity exists in this region.”
President Obama told leaders of Qatar,
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Iraq he was ”very
appreciative” of their help.
He also praised them” for its
participation and commitment in rolling back violent extremism that disrupted
Iraq and Syria and friends in the region as a whole.”
”Everybody agreed that there are
times in our world when we need to make a stand… but particularly the region
needs to come together and make a stand, because this is a threat that is
prominently affecting our partners around the region.”
