Aquino determined to push reforms and downplays Church group calling for his resignation

Church group that is calling for resignation of President Aquino III is just a small group compared to the majority of Filipino’s who were supporting his administration, this was the statement released in Malacanang.

In interview with the government radio, the Communications Secretary Coloma Jr. said that the statements of National Transformation Council or NTC reflect the view of one small sector.

“That does not reflect the opinion of the majority who continue to support Aquino’s leadership” Secretary Coloma said.

NTC (National Transformation Council) is a group of religious leaders and some civil society members, said that President Aquino lost “the moral right to lead the nation.

Several bishops belong to NTC, including Cebu Archbishop Cardinal Vidal and Davao City Bishop Capalla.  Malacanang officials said that they were informed already that Vidal was not part of it.

Another vocal church official in Lingayen—Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz, warned the Malacanang that it should not belittle the calls from the said group.
