Former government official on said
Monday that the outspoken City Mayor Davao Rodrigo Duterte is destined to guide
the country and enter the presidential derby in 2016 Election, del Rosario the
former National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council executive
director, said that as Duterte has initially turned down the offers for him to
run on the highest post in the land, there still a chance for the mayor to
change his mind.
"Ito kasi parang advocacy na ito.
There is what we call destiny. Kung talagang destiny ng isang na sya ang mamuno
sa ating bayan kahit ayaw n'ya baka sa bandang dulo , ma-encourage siya na
tumakbo din," del Rosario told the reporters.
Being a mayor's friend, Rosario,
who had worked with the Mayor for over six years, said that the Davao City
local chief executive is a capable of running the country.
He noted what Mayor Duterte has
done in Davao like lowering down the misdemeanor rate in the city and instills
discipline among his citizens.
He said there’s a "silent majority" that
is supporting the idea of Duterte running for the Philippine president.
