A day after the scheduled talks with
government with the students leaders was cancelled, thousands protesters poured
into main road Hong Kong for another wave of pro—democracy rally.
Resurgence that saw flagging the support
with the protesters who blocked main roads and even the streets in the three Hong
Kong's busiest areas since September 28, some roads has been reopened to
traffic, but the main thoroughfare the heart of business district remains
occupied.
"If short—term protests won't
work, there will be long—term protests," a charismatic 17 year old
student leader told loudly by cheering the crowds. "This movement will not lose
to the government."
The activist’s students demanded
a greater say choosing the city's leader have vowed to stay until the
government responds, while government repeatedly urged to protesters to
withdraw from streets and allow city to return to normal.
Officials agreed to meet with the
student leaders but called off the said negotiations, saying that the grounds
for dialogue has been "severely undermined" by students'
call for more people to occupy the streets.
