United States mistakenly delivered weapons to Islamic State by Airdrop

The IS (Islamic State) released new video in which brags that it recovered weapons and supplies that United States military intended to deliver to the Kurdish fighters that were locked in fight with militants over the control of Syrian border of Kobane.

The Intelligence Group tracks jihadist social media accounts, and the video drew attention. it appears to show masked militant raking his hands through a crate filled with grenades.

In news release by the United States military officials acknowledged launching airstrike near Kobane that they said destroyed “U.S. airdrop of Kurdish supplies” to prevent “these supplies from falling into enemy hands.” “All other resupply bundles were successfully delivered,” CENTCOM news said, without specifying the shipment.

The said incident highlights difficulty in making sure all the airdrops are accurate, even GPS—guided parachutes that Air Force commonly uses. The airdrops of the food and water to the religious minorities trapped on mountain cliffs in the northern of Iraq hit the mark of 80 percent of the time, Pentagon officials said at the time.
