Unmanned Drone strike kills eight and wounded six in North Waziristan

The second attack by an unmanned drone killed at least eight persons and wounded six in Shawal district of North Waziristan a tribal region. The intelligence sources say that the drone targeted residence of Taliban commander Habib and left at least eight suspected militants dead and 6 others injured.

The said strike destroyed the compound situated in Mangroti near Pak—Afghan border region and appeared to be a transit point for the militants across the border. The details and its confirmation of Habib's death could not be verified since media's access is severely restricted in the troubled region.

North Waziristan is among the Pakistan’s seven tribal districts near Afghan border which are rife with homegrown insurgents and are alleged to be strongholds of Taliban and Al Qaeda operatives, among others.
