In Subic Freeport a total of Nine
ships from American that were scheduled to arrive this month until December decided
to cancel its port calls due to the “anti-American sentiments” in country
after US Marine was recently implicated in the alleged slaying of the Filipino transgender
in the Olongapo City in this was said by a group of business owners.
SBFCC or Subic Bay Freeport Chamber of
Commerce said that the cancellation has really disappointed the local
businessmen, who have been preparing for “liberty” (rest and recreation) of the
American troops.
The anticipated ship visit could mean
better Christmas for business owners and to their employees. But after the said
cancellation, one can imagine disappointed faces.

Metropolitan Authority chairman confirmed the said cancellation of port calls
of nine United States Navy ships.
Citing the report from Global
Terminals and Development Inc., that has been operating ports here providing
service to the US Navy ships, said that four ships supposed to visit this free
port this month while the other five were expected in December. But those
visits will be put on hold until further notice from the authorities.
Maybe, they could dock in Cavite, and its nearer to Manila....
