One of five PH-soldiers that was killed
in a firefight with the AS bandits in Sulu was beheaded, this was said by one
of the military official.
Colonel Arrojado, the commander
of Joint Task Group Sulu, refused to name the reported slain soldiers but the
official confirmed that “among five, one beheaded.”
“28 soldiers which include an officer,
were reported wounded in the firefight that started in municipality of Talipao Sulu”
Arrojado said.
The two of the killed Abu Sayyaf
member was identified as Hairullah Asbanga sub-group leader, whose body was then
recovered in the Bawisan Village, and Jakka, brother—in—law of AS leader Sahiron.
Major Victoria Mandin, the executive
officer of Don Basilio Navarro Hospital Western Mindanao Command, told the reporters
that 26 of the admitted soldiers were now in “stable condition” but the
other two had to be moved to Ciudad Medical Center for serious injuries.
Majority of wounded soldiers
suffered a shrapnel wounds “either from the mortars or from the high caliber
ammunition.”
