The lady senator noted that Gregorio's
name that was said does not appear in DAR files as owner of the said agricultural
land, and neither does his name emerge in the issued list of the farmer
beneficiaries.

The senator really feels that Mr. Tiu be held
liable for contempt. She also maintained that the agricultural land should only
be with the small farmers.
Santiago also noted that under
the law, the farmer—beneficiaries were strictly prohibited from selling their
properties up to 10 years.
So why Mr. Gregorio could not
have sold it to other or even leased it without the DAR approval.
