Six Military Soldiers dead in the recent Clash with the Abu Sayyaf

A total of six Soldiers from the Philippine army died when the firefight broke between the members of the ASG (Abu Sayyaf Group) and the Philippine Army ignites in Basilan early Sunday morning of November 2.

According to Colonel Bautista, commander of 104th Army Brigade, said that as members of 64th Infantry Battalion doing patrol operations at Barangay Libug in Sitio Mompol when the 20 members of the said rebel group attacked.


After the 45—minute firefight between the two groups, six soldiers from the Philippine Military were immediately found dead, including the “young second lieutenant.” And also another soldier reportedly injured.

Bautista said that AFP received information of the group of Radzmi Jannatul that attacked the soldiers. And also Bautista said that reinforcement has been deployed already in area to run after Jannatul’s group as the official assured that justice will be served for the death of his men.


The Philippine military troops were in the said area in order to secure the said construction of the 64—kilometer circumferential government road project.
