Most of the massacre victims were children, women and some elderly people could not escape to Baga (a border of Chad) as Islamists fired rocket grenades, assault rifles on the town resident’s.

Initial reports revealed that not less than 2,000 people were immediately killed during the terrorist act. The civilian death toll was huge as they gave up counting the dead bodies that was noted as the “deadliest massacre” of the history.
