A first time Chinese plane
passenger experienced his nightmare as he light up his cigarette during the
plane flight without knowing that smoking on plane was seriously illegal.
On Christmas Day, a 61 year old Miaoqing
from mainland China was on the headline after being caught smoking in the toilet
on a plane flight from Bangkok. The flight steward of the Cathy Pacific flight went
to the toilet cubicle as the alarm sounded and founded Xu with a strong smell
of smoke with some cigarette butt that was found in bowl.
Xu admitted that he smoked in the
plane toilet.
The man was imposed with a HK$2,000
fine by the Tsuen Wan Court Hong Kong on a Charge of smoking in an aircraft. Miaoqing’s
lawyer told HK court that his client did not know that smoking on plane was not
allowed as his client cannot read.
