Tuesday night, a suspected Abu
Sayyaf leader was arrested by the combined police force in Basilan.
The commander of the 4th Philippine
Special Force Battalion Lt. Col. Eliglen Villamor confirmed the capture of Imran
Mijal alias Boh suspect from numerous crimes related to frustrated murder,
bombing, kidnapping, ambush and extortion.

Gun shots has been reported
during the operation as Mijal resisted his arrest and tried to use his firearms
which have forced the government troops to fire back on the suspect in which it
caused wound on Mijal’s right arm.
Mijal was then given a first aid.
After the operation, an M-16
riffle with one magazine, one riffle grenade, caliber 45 pistol with four
magazines and a 23 rounds of ammunition was confiscated.
The suspect was in Barangay
Marang-marang in Sumisip town Basilan when the 4th SF Battalion together with
the Sumisip police carried out the arrest operation.
