South Korea to Train 4 PH Air force Pilots

PH Air defense Miguel Ernesto said on a conference that “Air force will be sending four pilots to South Korea to undergo rigid training on Aerospace Industries for F/A-50 fighter jets”.

Those 4 pilots are just juniors and with captain rank, but the selection process was based on our thorough evaluation. These Officials have a greater number of jet time compared to others using the S-211” he added.

They will be appointed as test pilots for our F/A-50s and for those other who have only 200-300 will have to undergo training as SOP. The deployment of those Pilots will be announced as soon as possible when the finalization has been made.

PH-Korea sign Php18.9 Billion for the purchase of 12 F/A-50 dated march 28 of 2014. It is expected that after 18 months after the letter of credit 2 F/A-50 will be on the hands of the PAF, on the preceding 12 months new batch will be delivered and the remaining will be delivered 8 months after.

F/A-50 is capable of air to air battle with AIM-9 heat seeking missiles and automatic cannons with a maximum speed a half times speed of the sound. The initial F/A-50 will serve as the provisional jet fighter  to be used by those trained pilots later on when they  have enough experience more units will be purchased
