Chinese made Cambodian military training Z-9 helicopter crashed

The Chinese made Z-9 Cambodian military chopper crashed during a training mission by the Cambodian Military and killing five officials.

“The incident happen on Phnom Penh outskirts at the capital of Cambodia during its training operation, those five officers died and one officer were seriously injured,” this was the statement of an Cambodian senior official.

According to reports, the incident happened around 9:30 am near Dangkor district Phnom Penh. The said Chinese made Z-9 Cambodian military chopper carrying 6 military and crashed in a large pond. The victims are Cambodian Military officers who conducted Z-9 helicopter flight training.

Investigation is on its way knowing what caused the chopper explosion that made the chopper crashed in the large pond. No residents and damage was reported, the pond were the chopper crashed is located 12km to south Phnom Penh.

Among the victims was Maj. Gen. Uk Ponnaha the commander of the military chooper, Brigadier Gen. Vanrith and chopper technician team.

“Incident occurred during the actual flight of the new pilots and this is considered to be a major loss for the Cambodian military, as there had no reported chopper crash in the past decade”
