City in China Sealed after man dies due to “Bubonic Plaque”

A city in China has been sealed and a total of 151 Chinese individual has been placed on a high quarantine area, for the last people contacted with a man died last week due to “bubonic plaque

At total of 30,000 Chinese people living in Yumen in the province of Ganzu are not allowed to leave the place, police authorities are blocking the perimeter telling every motorist to look for alternative routes on its destination.

According to report a 38 year old suspected victim to have Bubonic Plaque died last Wednesday, and this victim has in contact recently with a dead marmot, an animal that live on grasslands and this is related to squirrel.


The authorities make sure that the city as enough flour, oil and rice to supply city residents for nearly one month. Those residents that are in quarantine are in stable conditions.

No one in the city is allowed to leave as the quarantine period is on its operation, but nevertheless no other cases were reported.


Bubonic Plaque is a “Class A” categorized infectious disease. This is the most serious disease according to China Treatment and Prevention Infectious Disease. A bacterial infection known for “Black Death” that killed millions of people during the early 14th century in Europe, this is an animal illness and rare in humans.
