Corruption is everywhere even
from home, upon reading opinions and articles about corruption. One person got
my attention “Evidence before declaring someone is corrupt.” Let us take
Philippine situation for this matter.
Do you think our funds spend on
Philippine projects were awarded to the right individuals? Partly yes when put
into writing, but when we do deeper and evaluate the outcome of those projects,
it is every obvious that there is something wrong with it. Corruption can be
seen everywhere bridges, roads that are sub standards, public hospitals and
schools with low quality equipment standards, rich officials with unexplained
possessions.
Corruption is like a cancer that
can kill an organization. This will pull down an organization achieving its
goals. Corruption is not just stealing money from people’s money, in fact there
are sorts of corruption that will make everyone miserable. Let us consider some
acts that are happening on our community.
- Using Public funds for personal use. People on the authority are those who misuse the funds, not just millions but billions are being used for their own interest. With this action our nation is being robe secretly, people have no idea what have happen to the funds.
- Authority and power abuse. Not just the money but using your authority for personal interest, abusing power vested by the constitution is illegal and unlawful. Meaning those who commit such actions are subject to punishment.
- “Selling your vote” instead of choosing the right candidate for the position is a form of corruption, your allowing future elected official to do such act in the future.
- Evading Tax payments. Taxes are the lifeblood of country, if you’re evading taxes which the government imposed on you. It is still consider a form of corruption. Even though our taxes might be misused by corrupt individuals it is unlawful not to pay taxes imposed.
