AAV-A1 is one of the several arriving
assets of the Philippine defense, this future assets will play a vital role on
the field for the territorial protection of Philippine territory both sea and
land.
Thru the modernization program of
the government, purchase of AAV-A1 will be realized. This Assault Amphibious
Vehicle was manufactured by Techwin in the United Defense.
This amphibious transport vehicle
used for surface assault operations. Normally this vehicle was referred to
Amtracks, it has advanced transmission and weapon systems with good maintainability.
The original name of the vehicle was LVT-7A1 but it was upgraded and renamed to
AAV-A1.
AAV-A1 can be installed with
.50mm machine gun or 40 mm MK-19 grenade launcher. It has 4x crew radios with
intercom system. Automatic fire suppression is also installed, a 400 hp turbo
charged fuel.
Its maximum speed is up to 9.7km
on sea that can surf up to 10ft plunging to shore, it has heavy duty shock that
provides mobility for all terrains at 72.4 kilometers per hour.
