Philippine Amphibious Vehicle LARC-V



LARC-V was developed by United State in the early 1950s, it is used as backup support in a military operation. This amphibious vehicle can transport up to 5 tons of cargo.

Philippines as one of the country who uses LARC-V, it overall number of units approximately to 968. These units were distributed to different countries like United States, Portugal, Australia, Iceland and Argentina.


 According to record 500 units were already destroyed in the fulfillment of its missions.

LARC-V has a maximum speed up to 30mph in land and 7.5knots in water. It has 3 crews that can carry up to 20 passengers weighing up to 10,000 lbs. Its fuel capacity is 144 gallons with a total of 2 tanks of diesel.

The remaining LARC-V vehicles were used as tourist vehicles and some retained in the military service. Philippine has a total of five LARC-V Vehicles currently in service.
