Re-activating Philippine OV-10 Bronco?

OV-10 Bronco, a twin-turboprop, rugged, maneuverable multi-mission aircraft, commissioned to served Philippine Air Force.

OV-10 Bronco was built and exclusively designed by North America, the OV-10 Bronco completed the performance test requirements for helicopters and also jets. It is faster and more versatile as compared to helicopters, but slower compared jets but it is more maneuverable.

Its major function in the military operation was to find and hit battlefield targets with its outstanding means of locating targets like guerilla forces in mountainous areas. Bronco was used as helicopter escort, anti-guerrilla back-up that can handle close air support.

OV-10 Bronco has 7 external station and with 4x7.62mm guns with 2,000 rounds ammunition. Wing is installed with LAU-7/A Launcher that can be a rocket or missiles. The center is mounted with 20mm gun. OV-10 Bronco can carry up to 1,136 liters fuel.


With the latest incident in Palawan involving Bronco dated 23 of June 2013, all remaining units has been grounded to fly till final decision will be made.
