Philippines rising economy makes
the country becomes the attractive target for United States franchises as it
expands in Asia.
International director on IFA a
United States based association Josh Merin said that foreign businessmen are
seeking on Philippine business community.
Philippine trade mission in the Philippines
was visited for the first time in order to pitch its business concepts on
Philippine franchises.
Representatives from different
delegations which include 14 franchises from America were interested in expanding
in Philippines. Those 14 American franchises were Jan-Pro Cleaning, Edible
Arrangement, Panda Express, New York Pizzeria, Pretzelmaker, World of Beer,
Title Boxing Club, Great American Cookies, PJ’s Coffee, Marble Slab,
RadioShack, Tilted Pub and Eatery, Wow Café and Tutor Doctor.
“According to Merin, trade mission
to Philippines hits a high record as per compared to India and China in which
it signifies their interest in Philippine market.”
Most American brands on the
delegations consider Philippines as master franchisees for their brand development.
These master franchisees will be allowed to create sub-franchise then sell its
unit in the Philippines.
Filipino national will owned
these US brands and majority of its revenue will be ours, 90% will be in the Philippines
and only a portion of stream will be going back to the United States as the
franchisor payment for royalty.
