Mexican authorities levied a USD
555,000 fine on ecological abuse against a project to build massive trading
center in the south of Cancun in which they will showcase their Chinese
Products.
The Attorney on Environmental
Protection said that the fine was for the building of roads through wetlands
which affects the coastal ecosystem without asking for authorization.
The “Dragon Mart” project of
China did not wait for the authorization of the environmental impact statements
for the work to be started. So it was a clear violation for the building project
that could lead to closure, since the cases were still in the courts.
Dragon Mart located South of Cancun.
This was describing as “Exhibition Center of International Products,
with
special emphasis on China products.”
This was criticized due to its
sprawling size measured 350 of warehouse, residential and exhibition space as
this could produce massive amounts of wastewater and deforestation.
The Attorney General on
Environmental protection said that “Chinese are not acting in concordance with
the law says.”
