United States welcomes China’s
effort to work constructively as it signed a deal allowing 2,500 United States Marines
as “rebalance “to Asia.
The agreement to deploy the US
marines in the city of Darwin bristled China when it was announced by United
States President Obama in 2011.
But after signing with the arrangement,
AUSMIN (Australia-United States
Ministerial Consultations) in Sydney, United States Secretary John Kerry
said that Washington was not paying attention in conflict with Asian
powerhouse.
‘’We welcome China rise as global colleague,
hopefully as an influential economy, as a full participating productive member
of the international community,’’ Kerry said.
‘’Were not seeking any confrontation and
conflict. And our hope was that China will in return will take advantage of the
chances and be that cooperative.’’
The Foreign Minister of Australia
Julie Bishop defended earlier the deal on United States Air Force and Marines
to be brought in Northern Territory, denying that its’ aimed at China was to
embroiled in the maritime disagreement with neighbors.
‘’That is not what is directed to
do at all. It is about working closely with the US to make sure that we can toil
on regional security and peace,’’ she told on a radio program.
