Lifestyle check is once again in
vogue, Vice President Binay his family were open to a lifestyle check “anytime.”
Binay made the announcement the day
the group asked Ombudsman office to charge PNP Director General Purisima with graft,
plunder and indirect bribery for renovation of his official residence in Camp
Crame and for the allegedly undervaluing its property in the province of Nueva
Ecija.
The group filed case against
Purisima, Office of the Ombudsman and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) drafting
rules for conduct of mandatory lifestyle checks on the 148,000 police force.
Umac (United Makati against
Corruption) demands of a lifestyle check so that Binays could prove that they
had nothing to hide in the public in its amid allegations of corruption against
Vice President, including the receiving of kickbacks from allegedly overpriced City
Hall Building in Makati that was built when VP Jejomar Binay was the Makati
mayor.
