Sen. Miriam Defensor—Santiago is
now considering quite a few personalities for her possible running mate,
including the Davao City Mayor Duterte, with that she then decide to run as
president in 2016 Presidential election.
“I should be the president of the
republic of the Philippines,” Senator Santiago said that line during a Senate
press conference.
When the senator was asked about whom
among those personalities that she wanted to be her running mated, Senator
Santiago said that “I would love to run with Duterte”
Asked who she wanted to be her
running mate, the senator said “I would love to run with Duterte.”
The lady senator mentioned names
of former presidential wannabe Senator Grace Poe and Gilbert Teodoro as a possible running mate.
“Maybe it’s Miriam and Grace,”
Senator Santiago said. She, however, noted the combination of their names
sounded like a restaurant and “charming.”
