2014 Active Military Aircraft of Philippines

The F-22 Raptor Lockheed Martin a single-seat with a twin—engine, an all weather stealth tactical fighter aircraft developed for United States Air Force. This is the result of USAF's Advanced Tactical Fighter program, the Raptor aircraft designed primarily in air superiority fighter, it has additional capabilities which includes ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence roles.

The Lockheed Martin the prime contractor and responsible for majority of airframe, weapon systems, and the final assembly of F-22, program partner Boeing provides wings, the aft fuselage, its avionics integration, and training systems.


The said aircraft variously designated F-22 and F/A-22 prior to the formally entering service in 2005 as F-22A. Despite of a protracted development and operational issues, USAF considers F-22 a critical component of its tactical air power, and any states that the aircraft is unmatched by any known or projected fighter.


The Raptor is a combination of stealth, aerodynamic performance, and situational awareness gives aircraft unprecedented air-to-air capabilities. 


Ordered in 2005 under a US$8.7 billion contract. Last unit delivered to Clark Air Basein 2012. 6 crashed due to incompetence of air force pilots. The pilots ejected and survived but were later court-martialled to death and had all possessions seized.
