A freshman 17 year old University
of the Philippines in Los Baños student was raped by a tricycle driver near school
campus. Senior Superintendent Florendo Saligao the Laguna Police Director and the
UPLB vice—Chancellor Dr. Enrique Tolentino confirmed the said incident.
The said victim had just come
from a school quiz contest and rode tricycle in the Barangay Maahas around 9:30
p.m. While on travel along Buot area, tricycle driver told the victim that they
had run out of gas and asked the freshman student alight from the said vehicle.
After awhile the suspect forcibly
brought the young girl to a grassy rice field where he threatened to kill her
before raping her, this was according to the police.
After the incident the victim was
then abandoned by the tricycle driver. Security guard of the university saw the
victim walking in the area. She was brought to a hospital.
