DOJ (Department of Justice) poses no objection on the recent move to require all mobile cellular phone network service providers to have a pre—install the so called "kill switch" software, its main function is to enable service providers to disable the cellular phones and erase all the data once it will be reported stolen.

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, a letter to committee, dated September. 11, 2014, said that DOJ poses no objection on the proposal, in fact lauds the proposal.

"This Department (DOJ) interposes no objection to the proposed bill as this is within the purview of what is embodied in Article II on Declaration of Principles and State Policies, of the 1987 Constitution, particularly Section 5 thereof, which promotes the maintenance of peace and order, the protection of life, liberty and property, and the promotion of the general welfare being essential for the enjoyment of all the people," De Lima said.
