Mayor Junjun —“Explain your repeated Snub of the senate probe”

Philippine Senate blue ribbon sub—committee will now issue to show cause order on all resource persons, including the Makati Mayor “Junjun” Binay, who repeatedly snubbed ongoing investigation into the parking building controversy.

Senator Aquilino Pimentel III, presides over the hearing, gave order after Senators Peter Cayetano and “Sonny” Trillanes protested the absence of Makati mayor, certain officials of the Makati City Hall and other resource persons who were subpoenaed twice by body to face senate inquiry.

Senator Pimentel said that the subpoenaed persons should explain before the committee its reason for their absence and their snub of the senate subpoena.

The subpoenaed individuals should convince the body why they should not be cited for contempt.

Trillanes said that sub-committee should compel presence of the absent resource persons in its next hearing which has yet to be scheduled.

Senator Trillanes issued same message to officials of Makati who did not show in the two hearings by the sub—committee.

Senator Cayetano reiterated his call to the Vice President to face Senate and answer the allegations. The Vice President was the city mayor when the construction of the controversial parking building started in 2007.
