Pnoy – “More Modern Equipments Coming to Philippine Coast Guard”

The Philippine President lauded efforts of PCG (Philippine Coast Guard) in securing country’s territorial waters and assured more modernized equipment and facilities.

The President Aquino who was the guest of honor on the 113th anniversary celebration of PCG said.


We rely on you in ensuring that our natural resources are well protected and you conduct operations against smugglers, human traffickers, poachers and criminals who pose dangers on our waters and our natural resources,” Aquino said.

“The national government would like to return favor for your enthusiasm and dedication to your service,” Aquino added.

President Aquino noted the new and modern equipment for PCG such as the additional 40 rubber boats and the 300 aluminum boats for PCG’s search and rescue operations and patrol operations.

He also said that PCG can await the 10 brand new 40—meter multi—role responsive vessels from Japan, and the first one is expected to be in our country by October 2015. The procurement of the two helicopters expected to be delivered by October 2015, construction of the 113 lighthouses; and completion of National Coast Watch Center by April 2015.


“We are preparing for new challenges or tensions that may happen in our waters. Day or night, rainy or sunny, we should be ready and alert against any danger that may confront us,” Aquino added.
