South Korean and South Korean Naval Ships fired at disputed sea border

South Korean naval ship fired a warning shot after North Korean patrol boat crossed on a disputed sea border off to the peninsula's west coast and then fired shots back before retreating, this was said by a  a South Korean official.


In the recent incident, there were no casualties reported on the South Korean side. The said area has been a scene of clashes in past that have killed scores of sailors on both sides, North Korean Ships  frequently crossing the Northern Line limit, which refuses to recognize as maritime border.


The South Korean President stressed the need to hold a high—level of talks on a regular basis, saying that she hopes that North Korea would show its sincerity about improving ties.

South Korean official said that the North Korean ship in South Korea—controlled waters about 10 minutes before it retreated. South Korea navy ship in the first hand broadcast warning and then fired warning shots before North Korean ship fired back at waters near South Korean ship. The South Korean ship returned fire into the sea near the North Korean ship, the official said.
