The eighteen member of the Russian
Air Force team at the Air Force Station Halwara Punjab is currently participating
in the Phase II of Indo—Russian bilateral exercise named as ‘AVIA
– INDRA I’. The said Russian delegation headed by Maj. Gen. Lyapkin
Alexander consists of Fighter jet pilots and Helicopter aircrew members.
The Russian aircrew flown Mi-35
& Mi-17, IAF Su—30 MKI with our aircrew, the members of Russian delegation
visited Bengaluru, in which they exposed indigenous projects such as the Light
Combat Aircraft, the Light Combat Helicopter and the (Dhruv) Advance Light
Helicopter.
The media witnessed the ‘air
to ground’ firing by the aircraft and its helicopters jointly flown by the
pilots of IAF (Indian Air Force) and the RFAF (Russian Federation Air Force) at
the Sidhwan Khas range near the Halwara.
The recent joint exercises
further strengthen relations between two Air Forces taking forward the India and
Russia strategic affiliation.
