Libyan Navy Ship seriously hit by Islamist Militants

A navy ship in Libya that was docked at the port of Benghazi has been seriously hit in its clashes between Libyan army and the Islamist militants; this was according to the residents in the area.

A reporter from Reuters claimed that the smoke rising enormously from the said port where the reported clashes between the IS militants and Libyan army took place, the Libyan army immediately transferred its heavy guns in order to strike the IS rebels.

According to source the vessel was sinking, but as of now this information could not be verified.

The said conflicting reports suggested that the said vessel was an oil tanker that had been on fire after the Islamist militias fired RPG (rocket propelled grenades) from high—rise buildings overlooking at the port.

The spokesman of the Libyan army Mohammed Hegazi told Associated Press that Libyan troops are now battling the Islamist factions in central district of the City, close proximity to the said port. As of now the information remains unclear if anyone was on board on the vessel the time it was struck.

The port has been closed and army has ordered the civilians to evacuate the said city centre to prevent any casualties.
