Palace said that Senate President
Drilon "set a good example" for recently appearing in Senate in
order to answer all the questions on ICC Iloilo Convention Center project.
Presidential spokesperson
Lacierda said that “Senator Drilon set a very good example… that he was willing
to cooperate and did respond to queries that was posed on him by fellow
senators. The recent event certainly presents a good example for the Senate
President,"
The MalacaƱang stopped short urging
Vice President Binay to do the same, saying that they are not in position to
advise VPBinay.
"Whether Vice President will
emulate have Senator Drilon did, we will leave it with them to decide whether
he should follow the showed example of the Senate President Drilon... We did
not ask Senate President to appear. But he voluntarily decided to appear in the
Senate hearing," Lacierda said.
Recently Senator Drilon faces a graft
and a plunder charges over alleged overpricing of construction of Php700
million ICC.
