Makati Mayor Junjun Binay snub calls for him to step down

The rebellious Makati Mayor “Junjun” Binay that was suspended continues to question on the suspension order that was lodged against him by Office of Ombudsman, saying that the order was “baseless” and “illegal.”

“We are questioning a suspension order that is baseless and illegal,” Mayor Binay said in press conference.  “My case is now at the Court of Appeals and this is part of the legal process,” he added.

The suspended Makati mayor said that he remain as city mayor until CA (Court of Appeals) act on his petition for TRO (temporary restraining order) on his suspension.

Junjun Binay asked Secretary Roxas to recognize legal process. He is also silent on the possible takeover of Vice Mayor “Kid” Peña as city’s acting mayor.

However, Joey Salgado Binay’s spokesperson said that their camp is not recognizing Vice Mayor Peña’s takeover as acting Makati City mayor.

Earlier Monday Peña sworn in as acting mayor of Makati. He also asked Junjun Binay to follow the peoples will.
