Sa ilalim ng decommissioning process, ang mga armas ay mapupunta muna sa Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB).
Sasailalim naman ang mga combatants sa registration, verification, validation process, at agad mabibigyan ng cash assistance na P25,000 at PhilHealth cards.
Ayon kay MILF peace panel chairman Mohagher Iqbal at government peace panel chairman Miriam Coronel-Ferrer magsisimula ang decommissioning process sa 145 na miyembro ng Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces, ang armed wing ng MILF.
Ayon kay Ferrer aabot sa 55 high-powered at 20 crew-served weapons ang isusuko sa phase 1 ng decommissioning process.
“The President himself will be the guest of honor during the event and we are inviting our esteemed lawmakers from the House of Representatives and the Senate to join us and witness the commitment of both parties to put an end to the armed conflict,” ani Ferrer.
Giit ni Ferrer, ang hakbang ng rebeldeng grupo ay bilang pagpapakita ng senseridad para maipasa ang panukalang Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).
“This is just the start of the decommissioning process, which the MILF has committed to undertake as a show of its sincerity to peace building,” dagdag ni Ferrer. (Bomboradyo)
