A suspected Abu Sayyaf member
(ASG) was nabbed by military and police operatives in Zamboanga City.
Spokesman Police Inspector
Samuddin of the Peninsula regional police office said that “suspect was
indentified in the name of Edwin Sawaldi cornered near Zamboanga Port around 6
p.m. Wednesday.
The arrested ASG member Sawaldi
carries the alias name Nur Hassan is facing four cases related to serious
illegal detention and high profile related kidnappings.
The suspect is now under the
custody of Police Office in Zamboanga City for proper disposition before it
will be turned over to the court.
Police authorities and other
official where disseminated to conduct a thorough investigation to find out the
main reason by the arrested Abu Sayyaf Group member (ASG) Edwin Sawaldi was in
Zamboanga City.
