“President Aquino not hungry for Power” says Senator Santiago

Unlike most critics of Aquino supervision, Senator Miriam Defensor—Santiago strongly believes that President Aquino III will not seek for a second term in the next 2016 presidential election.

The lady senator said that Aquino is only dropping the hints of the term extension so that other politicians will not be treating him as lame duck president.

"I think President Aquino is literally counting the days, weeks, months and years. He is just like his mother," Senator Santiago said in a press briefing.

"The Aquino mother and son are not power-hungry people, from my personal observation," senator added.

President Aquino fueled assumptions that he wants for another term subsequent to expressing his directness to amend the 1987 Philippine Constitution.

But in a separate media interview, President Aquino clarified that he only wants to adjust the provisions of the agreement that will clip powers of the Supreme Court.

Shooting down speculations, President Aquino said he is no "masochist" who wants to carry troubles on the nation from now until the unclear future. He even claimed that he looks forward having delicious meal in a company of good acquaintances when he finally steps down from his position.

The President however is still open for the possibility of running for re—election and will listen to the Filipino people’s command.
